CFH-GAB. Seth Murray MALTBY, b. Jan. 5, 1830 (Seth M.5, Isaac 4, Benj.3, Dan.2, Wm.1). He went out West in 1849 and died unmarried in San Francisco, Feb. 20, 1853.
His photograph was sent the compiler by his sister Mary Love Maltby (Mrs. Albert Tracy Higby). On the back is written: "Seth Murray Maltby, eldest son of Seth Murray Maltby who was eldest son of General Isaac Maltby, whose wife was an only child of General Seth Murray, whose wife was Johannah DICKINSON, whose father was General Lemuel DICKINSON."
It is an attractive face, high forehead, eyebrows low over the eyes, nose is long and mouth both firm but tender.
